I have been to Pocha several times. The service is very good, it gets crowded, but that just adds to the atmosphere. The menu is full of Korean favorites and everything is delicious. I would highly recommend Pocha, it’s a complete New York gem.
Came here a lot while with 4-5 friends on different nights while on vacation for a week. This became our go-to spot because of the good vibes. The staff were friendly. We liked a lot of the music played here, a lot of Big Bang from the 2010 era.
Atmosphere: Loud k-pop from the 2010s blasting over as you’re yelling over other large groups to be heard. Good for pregames
Food: Average. The fishcake udon was pretty salty, more than usual. Maybe a blessing in disguise since it’s pretty easy to get drunk fast.
Drinks: Order the watermelon soju and yogurt and lychee soju. The watermelon, yogurt, and lychee soju taste so refreshing. Can barely taste the alcohol which makes it so potent.
It’s always there for me during a late night in ktown like a shining light at the end of a tunnel. Thank you K Town Pocha for always being there for me over the years with your delicious watermelon soju.
We shared two watermelon sojus, a lychee and yogurt soju. The drinks here are super weak but really tasty. The watermelon and lychee sojus both tasted like real juice, unlike the ones in the green bottle. The yogurt one tasted just like yakult mixed with some soda. I can imagine if you’re not careful, it would be super easy to overdo it on these drinks haha.
We ordered the whole korean fried chicken with the soy garlic sauce. GET THE FRIED CHICKEN. It’s SO TENDER and SO juicy with a perfectly fried skin. We came as a group of 8 and it was perfect for sharing among all of us,
We also got the ramen, seafood udon and the tteobokki. These were for the most part- relatively typical and nothing to write home about. If you come, I definitely recommend the drinks and chicken!
Service was spotty, with our menus always taken away from us, my friend having to eat her ice while waiting for the next order, and a worker looking quite done with their job.
We saw everyone getting the Watermelon Soju ($35), and had to get for ourselves. It’s a must for sharing, and the actual fruit used as a container is always a vibe. The watermelon flavor was pretty sweet, but you can still taste the alcohol.
Our favorites all around was actually the Pineapple Soju ($28). It came with pineapple slices on the side too, which was a bummer the watermelon didn’t have this. With no pineapple soju pictures on Yelp and no other tables ordering this, we’re so happy this indeed came in a pineapple. The pineapple went better with soju for a tangy sweet refreshing taste. A must try!
We didn’t order any food, so I’d be curious to come again for a night out place over pocha dishes and fruity drinks. They also had happy hour deals.
